We had a farewell lunch of 16 people today at Alexanders Grill on Bourke Street and would like to thank the staff, especially Sam for the fantastic service. Sam looked after our booking and he was extremely helpful, friendly and very patient with us. Everyone was happy with the food and most importantly the steak was cooked to perfection!! The customer service we received from the staff was absolutely fantastic and always done with a smile on their face. Would recommend your restaurant to all! Thanks, Terleetha. "The food is consistently, fantastic. Steaks have come out perfectly medium-rare every time and are so full of flavour. The half price Tuesday special provides unparalleled value as a 500g grass fed, yearling t-bone becomes $17! It's not an off cut the kitchen wants to dispose of either. It's a juicy, quality, choice bit of meat that they cook to perfection. The green peppercorn sauce and steak chips (cut thick and amazingly crispy) also deserve mention for their "I can't believe it's so good" comment inducing qualities.
I know this is the best steak category but their chocolate 'ganache' (crispy base is divine) and peach cheesecake deserts are out of this world and no matter how full I am from the delicious mains I always manage to clean my desert plate.
Staff are exceptionally friendly. Sam the manager is a funny and entertaining guy. The waitresses are so friendly and caring they can almost be described as doting and take the time to get to know you. It's not the kind of service that you would get in a 5 star hotel, it's even better as they treat you like you're a good friend or family member.

I would just like to provide some feedback in relation to a meal a colleague and I had at your Bourke St establishment last night. From the second we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The service was absolutely exquisite. Extremely informative advice was provided on the wine we ordered to compliment our meal. It was the perfect addition to our main course. The Wagyu steak that we ordered was cooked to perfection and was absolutely melt in the mouth and flavoursome. It was served on a delicious bed of garlic mash with a red wine sauce that topped off a perfect meal for us both. At the conclusion of the meal, your friendly staff asked how we enjoyed our meal and advised that there was no rush to leave if we wished to remain talking or order dessert when and if we felt like it. As soon as I left the restaurant, I was already planning on who I could bring back with me. I have now arranged to bring friends from interstate next month and will most certainly re-book at your restaurant. A delightfully delicious evening. Sam and his wonderful front of house staff made our evening enjoyable from the moment we walked in the door. Then came the delicious banquet...mouth watering!! And just when you think you’ve eaten enough, it’s topped off with a stunningly unforgettable dessert. Everything matched beautifully with an extensive wine list. A truly wonderful evening and one which we won’t forget in a hurry. Just a few lines to say 'Thank you' to the staff working at the Burke St restaurant. It was a pleasure dealing with Sam to organise a table for 15. Everyone was extremely happy with the service and the food. The steaks were grilled to perfection - juicy and tender. The desert was a wwoooowwww - very delicious. All courses were served in a timely manner - we made it back to work just in time. Can't wait to go back there again. Have not stopped bragging to family and friends about the outstanding food and service.

My Boyfriend and I had dinner at your Bourke St restaurant on Friday, 19th Feb 2010 and was soooooo pleased with food and fantastic service that I thought I would write in and share it with everyone. We are very fussy with our steaks and cutlets and you didn't fail to please. My Lamb Cutlets and my boyfriends Yearling T-Bone Steak was AMAZING. I have to say they were one of the best cutlets I have ever tasted. I have to admit, having not been to your restaurant before and just going off the name 'Alexanders' we were not expecting such a beautiful restaurant nor a fine dinning experience so we were both very pleasantly surprised. Food rating: 10, Service rating: 10, Atmosphere rating: 10. I don't normally give any establishment a 10 for anything, but Alexanders deserves a top rating. I had the rib eye and quite frankly it was the best steak I've had in a very long time. My partner had the seafood platter for one and he gave that top marks. The staff were attentive without being annoying and they knew their stuff. The ambience was just great. A great experience. The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was exactly what you would expect. We ordered steak and seafood platter. The steak melted in the mouth. Booked a table for 8 and we sat in the private funtion room WOW. The room is just unbelievable, just stunning... We were served by an canadian waitress which was her first nite and she did o.k.. Now for the food ,,, entree I ordered the salt and pepper calamari 8.5 /10. Wife ordered the oysters kilpatricks excellent......for the main I had the 500g t-bone (medium a must) too big to eat cooked perfectly to my likeing presentation 9-10 quality 8-10 wife had the banquet excellent as well good variety i must say... staff were down to earth people.Overall all of us had an excellent nite well done....
